Malice in the Underground
is coming to Boscombe
Saturday 24 October | The Underground, Bournemouth

Boscombe is about to get a little louder, darker and considerably stranger.
From the slightly unhinged minds behind Alice’s Wicked Tea Party comes Malice in the Underground — a new night of live music, DJs, noise, neon, sweat and general mayhem at The Underground in Bournemouth. Think of it as a place for the weirdos, the night owls, the misfits and anyone who’d rather be somewhere interesting than somewhere sensible.
The first night is Saturday 24 October, and we’re kicking things off with Black Bordello.
They don’t really do ordinary gigs. Their live shows are part punk, part cabaret, part dark theatre, with a healthy dose of chaos thrown in. They’re theatrical, unpredictable and completely captivating — the sort of band that makes you wonder whether you’re watching a gig or accidentally wandered into someone else’s very strange dream.
Joining them are UltraRabbit, the brand-new project from Andy Heintz and Eva Menon of Flesh Tetris.
And yes, it’s every bit as bonkers as the name suggests.
Disco, punk, electro, weirdness and a bit of cartoon insanity all thrown into the same musical blender. It’s fast, it’s loud, it’s seriously fun, and we’re pretty sure standing still isn’t going to be much of an option.
Once the bands have finished doing their damage, we’ll keep things moving with DJs playing post-punk, goth, darkwave, industrial and anything else that belongs in a dark room with the lights turned down.
And this isn’t a one-off.
Malice in the Underground will be happening every two months, with at least two live acts every time and plenty of room for things to get progressively stranger.
The next one is already lined up for Saturday 5 December, with El Generico confirmed to join us.
So if you’re bored of the same old nights out, feel slightly more comfortable on the darker side of things, or just fancy finding out what happens when we let the weirdos loose underground…
Come and join us.
